πΆπ Roots of Empathy - Theme 8: Who Am I? ππΆ
Our P4/5 class were delighted to welcome baby Ruairí and his mum, Niamh, back for another special Roots of Empathy session, this time exploring the theme “Who Am I?”
The children thought carefully about what makes each of us unique, observing Ruairí’s developing personality, preferences, and reactions. They noticed how he is beginning to show who he is through his expressions, movements, and the way he responds to the people around him.
With Niamh’s gentle guidance, the class saw how feeling safe, loved, and valued helps babies grow in confidence and begin to form their own sense of self. It sparked thoughtful discussion as the children reflected on their own identities - what they like, what makes them special, and how everyone is different in their own way.
It was lovely to see the children’s empathy continue to deepen as they recognised the importance of belonging, acceptance, and celebrating individuality.
A big thank you to Niamh, baby Ruairí, and Maeve for another heartwarming and meaningful visit. π
