πŸ‘ΆπŸ’š Roots of Empathy - Theme 7: Communicating πŸ’šπŸ‘Ά

31st Mar 2026

Our P4/5 class enjoyed another special visit as part of the Roots of Empathy programme, this time focusing on the theme of communicating. Baby Ruairí and his mum, Niamh, joined us once again to help bring the learning to life.

The children explored how babies communicate without words, carefully observing Ruairí’s facial expressions, sounds, and movements. They saw how Niamh responds to his cues with eye contact, a warm voice, and gentle reassurance, showing that communication is a two-way process built on attention and care.

The class reflected on their own communication skills too, discussing the importance of listening, kind words, and positive body language. It was wonderful to see their empathy continuing to grow as they recognised how good communication helps everyone feel understood and valued.

A big thank you to Niamh, baby Ruairí, and Maeve for another meaningful and memorable session. πŸ’›
