🌍 Celebrating Earth Day at Lissan House 🌿
We celebrated Earth Day with a little adventure to Lissan House! Pupils from P1, P2, and P3 pulled on their wellies, splashed through puddles, and set off on foot - having as much fun on the journey as at the destination.
Once at Lissan House, the children were divided into groups and given a creative mission: to build a bug house using only natural materials found around them. Sticks, leaves, and woodland treasures were transformed into imaginative structures through teamwork and creativity. 🐞 🐜 🪵 🍃
We also explored the beautiful grounds, taking time to slow down and connect with nature through our senses - listening to the sounds of the forest, feeling different textures, and noticing the vibrant colours and shapes surrounding us.
It was a fun, memorable way to celebrate and care for our planet. 🌱
As Wendell Berry reminds us, “The Earth is what we all have in common.” 🌍
