Visit from NI Water

22nd Nov 2019

Anna, from NI Water paid a visit to KS2 classes today.  She provided us with some very insightful facts and figures! Did you know that any plastic ever produced on earth, is still here on earth?  That there are more bits of plastic in our oceans than there are stars in the galaxy!

We as a school no longer use 'single use' plastic bottles.  We were very kindly provided with reusable plastic bottles for the whole school by NI Water!!

We were also astounded to learn that flushable wipes aren't so flushable!! They cause huge amounts of damage to the machinery that helps clean the sewers.  Cotton ear buds made from plastic will also be a thing of the past very soon and should only ever be placed in the rubbish bin.

Thank you Anna for your very insightful talk.  Remember...REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!!!
